RTC Telecalabria is a private Calabrian television broadcaster, owned by Giuseppe Soluri, based in Catanzaro.
RTC Telecalabria was born in 1975 by Tony Boemi , and its reception was via cable for the residents of the city of Catanzaro with the name of Radio Tele Catanzaro ; but in 1976 Boemi left it to found Telespazio Calabria , then RTC was taken over by Giuseppe Soluri who transformed it into Tele Catanzaro . In 1977 Soluri also acquired Tele Radio Catanzaro 104 .
In 1980 Tele Catanzaro joined the PIN television circuit together with Tele Uno Cosenza , TeleRadio 2000 , TeleRadio Sud and Radio Sud Television (the then TeleReggio). In 1981 Tele Catanzaro became Fourth Channel and in 1982 joined the new Euro TV television circuit .
In 1984 Quarto Canale changed its name to Videosera (always linked to Euro TV ) and Videosera 2 was born : the two broadcasters expanded throughout the Calabrian territory. In 1986 Videosera 2 joined the Junior TV circuit : the two broadcasters were thus linked to two different national syndications. In 1987 Odeon TV (formerly Euro TV) left Videosera for the Calabrian TV consortium Vuellesette ; this was a period of crisis, so that Videosera was reduced to a single network and the consequent loss of frequencies in Calabria.
In 1992 Videosera became Telecalabria ; it would have had some success among the younger ones with its affiliation to Junior TV (Telecalabria first aired the anime series Dragon Ball in the region ). In 1998 Telecalabria changed its name to RTC Telecalabria .
In 2005 the Calabria Channel satellite television was born , visible on Sky channel 875 , in alliance with TeleEuropa Network of Rende , Radio Tele International of Crotone , ReteKalabria of Vibo Valentia , TeleMia of Roccella Jonica and Reggio TV of Reggio Calabria .
