Created in 1999, KTO has been an associative chain since 2009. It maintains links of fidelity with the Catholic Church, and in particular the Conference of Bishops of France.

KTO was founded to provide the Church with the means to carry the message of the Gospel through all modern media, that is, television, and today mobile phones, tablets, Connected TV. The channel is complementary to the Sunday morning program "Le Jour du Seigneur" on the public service (a partnership was created in 2007 between the CFRT and KTO). KTO is addressed not only to Catholics, but to all "seekers of meaning", believers or not.

KTO is broadcast 7 days a week; 24 hours a day via satellite, ADSL TV, and cable live and in full screen. The channel is therefore accessible in most French-speaking countries.
